Affordable housing solutions were needed in six communities across BC and temporary accommodations used by nearly 600 officials during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games were no longer needed.
Timber Grove is a collection of 52 affordable rental apartments for seniors and people with disabilities at risk of homelessness in Surrey.
In order to bring affordable housing to six communities in BC, Britco partnered with BC Housing and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to design and build 320 temporary accommodations that were used by nearly 600 officials in Whistler Athletes’ Village during The Games. After The Games, these modules were disassembled, redesigned, transported and reassembled to 156 new social housing units in Chilliwack, Enderby, Saanich, Sechelt, Surrey and Chetwynd.
